Tao Te Ching Chapter 10-11
Don’t possess it
Give birth, but don't possess it. (Ch.10)

♦  ♦  ♦

Though you are the mother of your hologram, which is the world in front of you, it is not yours.

Don't try to control it.

If you try to possess it, you will be possessed by it.

Watch out Satori! Don't be possessed by the idea.

Zen Master Ikkyu was a good friend of Konparu Zenchiku, a dancer/actor of Noh theatre. This eccentric duo wrote and performed «Yama Uba» in a village in medieval Japan. You can study Zen Buddhism, but studying something is not necessarily living it. Rather, you can learn Zen without analyzing Sutras and Mantras. Meditation will certainly help you find out what Zen is, but if you think squatting a la Japonaise will teach it better than theatre does, you will never learn what it is. You can even learn Zen while frying French fries at a diner. Peter Brook's «Empty Space» inevitably makes a Japanese think about "Ma 間", spacial or sonic emptiness. The Japanese have been considering it as the rich source of creativity. If you find the concept of Everything = Nothing a bit too hard to grasp, why don't you look to this theatrical genius for advice? You don't have to go straight to the gate of Tao or Zen. Anne Bogart will show you some backstage door to get in there. Read her «Viewpoint», and you will see why theatre is a good friend of Zen Buddhism.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 10-12
Let it work
Let it work, but don't rely on it. (Ch.10)

♦  ♦  ♦

Let your hologram do its work.

But can we really?

Can we really say "What the heck" to the disasters and miseries you see on TV?

If not, it is not a bad idea to ask ourselves a question: "Am I not relying too much on my emotions provoked by TV, or my external world?"

Tao Te Ching Chapter 10-13
Don’t control it
Be the chief, but don't control it. (Ch.10)

♦  ♦  ♦

You are "the chief". You are the one, who is projecting the world.

Well, it is hard enough to accept it, isn't it?

But how about the rest?

Can you stay away from controlling what you are creating?

It is not a good idea to control it.

It's like your sweetheart.

You have to leave it free.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 10-14
Attainment of Dark Depth
It is called the attainment of Dark Depth. (Ch.10)

♦  ♦  ♦

No matter how mystic Tao Te Ching seems, please don't be fooled.

The way to attain Dark Depth, Tao, or Satori is quite banal.

Very easy.

You don't have to do anything because you have already attained it.

You have only to remember that.

No more effort. No more discipline.

You are Tao itself. You are Satori itself.
