Tao Te Ching Chapter 41-1
Tao’s move
Returning is Tao's move. (Ch. 41)

♦  ♦  ♦

Why are we not able to give a name to Tao?

Because Tao is not an object.

Tao is a movement.

Tao's movement is Tao. ("the movement of the movement" is the movement?)

The movement of nothingness is Tao.

What kind of movement is it?

It is a constant returning.

When you receive Tao, Tao returns to Tao.

When you emit Tao, Tao returns to Tao.

Zen masters' circle and Yin Yang circle express it.

Returning is rebirth.

This is the reincarnation without time.

KEYWORDS

You may be interested in reading Mishima's works, but hesitate to do so because of his image of being an ultra right-winger. In these two books, he hardly talks about his nationalist dogma. Instead, he tells us about women and their passion of love. They are an ideal entrance gate to Mishima's literature. Especially, «The Sound of Waves» has been incarnated by legendary Japanese actresses; notably, Sayuri Yoshinaga and Momoe Yamaguchi. It is quite exceptional among Yukio Mishima's novels that the audience enjoy the story of the movie and the beauty of the actress without knowing the name of the author who wrote its original. Some are pleasantly surprised when they discover the name later on.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 41-2
Tao's means
Being weak is Tao's means. (Ch. 41)

♦  ♦  ♦

Accept the world as it is.

We all know that's the best way.

Then, we wonder why we have got an unquenchable desire to change the world.

Why?

Change itself is nothing bad.

On the contrary, it is essential.

Holograms have to change.

Every time a hologram changes, every time the prayer wheel turns, Tao's energy returns to Tao.

The important thing is that you must not force the hologram to

change.

That's why we have to be weak.

Avoiding any direct action on the world is Tao's effective means.

This attitude is called Dark Depth Female 玄牝 [gen pi].

Tao Te Ching Chapter 41-3
Born from you
Everything under the sky is born from you. (Ch. 41)

♦  ♦  ♦

What are things?

What is existence?

It is your own self.

Zen master Dogen says:

"You extend yourself and make you the world."

われを排列しおきて尽界とせり

[ware o hairetsu shiokite jinkai to seri]

(Uji 有時 , «Shobogenzo»)

The master says clearly:

Time = Things = Self.

Your own self is the mother of the world.

For it projects the hologram of the world, including your own self.

Why including your own self?

Because the world IS your own self.

It is the projector and projected at the same time.

That's why there is no difference between your own self and the rest of the world.

That's why I ask you not to judge.

This is another Kanreisu (a bar / spring) of Zen and Tao.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 41-4
Born from nothing
You are born from nothing. (Ch. 41)

♦  ♦  ♦

Your own "self" is born from Tao (=nothing).

That's why Tao is your mother. (☞See Eat mother 20-21)

Tao is the source of your own self along with other elements in the hologram.

The easiest way might be just thinking that "self" is an illusion.

If it is too outrageous to accept, Zen master Dogen will give you an idea:

[Isshu soban no jiko]

一珠走盤の自己

(Kokyo 古鏡, «Shobogenzo»).

It means:

"Self is like a ball running on the board."

In other words,

"Self is like a ball running on your hologram."
