The characteristic of the great attainment is to follow Tao and Tao only.

As an object, Tao is vague and elusive.

Though it is vague and elusive, there  are yet formed objects inside it.

Though it is elusive and vague, there are images inside it.

Though it is deep and dark, and dim, there is the essence, or the root of energy, (as clean as polished rice), inside it.

This essence, or the root of energy, (as clean as polished rice), is very genuine.

There is something sure inside it.

From now to the olden days, Tao's name does not go away.

And it serves, supervising all the roots of material beings.

How do I know that all the roots of material beings are like that?

By the name of Tao.

<POINT> Tao is the energy that creates all.

The attainment of Tao is easy. All you have to do is to remember that you are always one with Tao. The moment you doubt it and think of the world (=your hologram), you will forget the fact and be stuck in there. Believe that Tao is the most important energy and the rest (=the world, =your hologram) is its catalyst.

What you see is your hologram. Tao is invisible and intangible.

Tao is invisible and intangible. It is the very energy (=true You) that creates your hologram, which includes all the material objects.

Tao is intangible and invisible. It is the very energy (=true You) that creates your holographic images in your mind. Your mind (and self) is part of the hologram. It sounds contradictory, but forget being logical if you want to know about Zen or Tao.

Tao is deep and dark, so it is called Dark Depth, too. It is the essence of all existence.

This essence is pure energy.

You can believe in Tao the fundamental energy.

Time doesn't exist in Tao. It is a concept we create in our mind. They say in Zen Buddhism that past, present, and future are being created simultaneously. Besides, the function of Tao had existed all the time even before Lao Tzu invented the word "Tao".

Tao is the source of the energy that projects all the material beings. Tao is the origin of everything.

What does it mean by "I" or "you"? These individual selves are holograms. Your feelings are part of your hologram, which is an illusion. True You is Tao itself. It doesn't matter what you call it; Love, Buddha, Zen, or whatever you like.

Yukio Mishima and Osamu Dazai detested each other. Dazai was born in an opulent family in the North of Japan. Without doubt, his «No Longer Human / Ningen shikkaku» is a masterpiece in modern Japanese literature. Saigyo was a Japanese poet in the 12th century. This ex-samurai was a Buddhist monk.  He was not a Zen monk. He died before the birth of Dogen. His name "sai-gyo" means "to go west". He seems to have enjoyed traveling the north of Japan. -Chapter 10f Dark Depth Attainment. 徳(得)is the famous Te of Tao Te Ching. It is often translated as moral. Tao by Matsumoto prefers «attainment», which is the Chinese character in parentheses. "Borrowing a character of the same pronunciation" takes place often in the old literature.

-[Practical uses] Zen is Love. Is Love a four-letter word? It was considered so, at least in samurai Japan.

Why do some artists use pseudonyms? To hide their identity or to demonstrate the essence? Matsuo, Basho is the author of «The Narrow Road to the Deep North / Oku no Hoso Michi» and, probably, the best known Japanese Haiku poet. Banana Yoshimoto is one of the most financially successful novelists in post-war Japan and the author of «Kitchen» on the right. Their pen names have one thing in common. The first names signify a banana tree. In Japanese, the first name comes last. Some think that Matsuo, Basho had a secret mission to accomplish while traveling up north. Banana Yoshimoto is a daughter of an influential philosopher. Did she try to hide her identity? Oh, no. Did she try to show her essence? Who knows.
