18. Taoism out of use

[Chapter 18 / English Translation] - click the line to watch the related video.
After big Tao has fallen out of use, we have "morality of love" and its rules.

After man's intelligence and discrimination have appeared, we have great hypocrisy.

Since six relations are not in harmony, we have children's filial duty and parent's merciful "love".

After the state has gone out of order and got dark, we have loyal ministers.

Rapid Decoded
Many people do not believe in Taoism now, so they invented "morality of love", which has nothing to do with true Love. They need rules to control others. Hopefully, you don't participate in this idiocy.

Many people think they are intelligent. They discriminate one from another and judge everything. They are stuck in the dichotomy of good and evil. They don't know how to handle the concept of evil, so they need hypocrisy.

When your family, like anything else, is in harmony, you don't need any duty or mercy. Everything goes naturally. When you think you are doing something for someone, the act is not spontaneous, which means it is false. If you believe in Taoism and are one with Tao, you know how useless it is to do something for someone in your hologram (=the world). When the word "love" comes up to your mind, that act of love is no longer an act of love. It has become something else. Probably, it is an act of controlling (=colonizing) someone, or, at least, interfering him.

Look around. If you have many "yes" men around you, it is a visible sign that your company is out of order.

[Related Articles]
-Do not judge. Any kind of discrimination cannot go with Taoism.

-Straw Dogs. "Heaven and earth have no mercy. They treat everything as straw dogs. The sage has no mercy. He treats everyone as straw dogs." This text inspired Dustin Hoffman and Sam Peckinpah.

-This chapter 18 should be read along with the chapter 19 Destroy cleverness because there are so many words shared in-between such as "morality of love", rules, filial duty, and merciful "love".

☞ I don't know if one can say that you must visit Kyoto, but if you are interested in oriental philosophies, it is worth visiting a real Zen garden at lease once in our life time. The one at Ryoan-ji temple may change your concept of a garden. Yasunari Kawabata's novel «The Old Capital» is an informative and fun reading material for your visit to Kyoto. Beautiful twin sisters will tell you their love stories, magically integrated into rituals and ceremonies in Japan's old capital.

-"Is a geisha truly a p,.........?"

No, it means "artist", literally. She
is an artist of the Taoist way of
  living.

-"What Does Nintendo mean?"

-"Frustrated?"

Why don't you think the other way
  round?

-"I am not happy about how I look."

There are a few things to think
  about.

-"Are you scared of seeing your
  reports?"

  To forget about statistics.

☞Isao Takahata's «Pom Poko» is about the urbanization of Tokyo and the adversity of the animals that lived in the forest before the development. Hayao Miyazaki's «Spirited Away» is the adventure of a girl to the world where past and present, and East and West are all mixed up. It seems like a caricature of modern-day Tokyo. Both films were produced by Studio Ghibli. If you are curious about what's going on in Japan nowadays, it is a nice preparatory study to watch these videos before you tackle the enigmatic and inexplicable phenomena in the far eastern post-consumer society.
